There was once a man named Thomas Hale Boggs, the US House Leader who was on the Warren Commission and very publicly spoke out against the FBI

He said that the FBI was conducting illegal activity and nearly all members of Congress were being spied upon and called for Hoovers resignation.

Hoover must have pissed his dress when he heard this.

Not long after, he was immediately denounced as mentally ill, and on October 16, 1972, Boggs was aboard a twin engine Cessna 310 with Representative Begich, who was facing a possible tight race in the November 1972 general election against the Republican candidate, Don Young, when it would vanish forever in Alaska. Never to be found.
