Drawing Pikachu in Procreate - Digital Art Timelapse

Call me basic, but Pikachu has always been one of my favorite Pokemon. He is not only cute and cheerful, but yellow and bright like the sun as well. Pikachu is an electric mouse, though according to my boyfriend he looks more like a cat.

Using a sketch I drew in my sketchbook as a guide, I snapped a photo and then completed the rest of the piece with Procreate on my iPad. My favorite part of the illustration is the background. The highly detailed and painted look of the pink and purple cloudy sky and grass contrasts very well with the more cartoonish Pikachu. The lightning bolt also suits Pikachu as well.
