Will no one stop Andrew Bailey, the Baileyoceros, the thick-skinned boss of the Bank of England who listens to no one and says he may well raise our interest rates back up when energy prices rise again.Not Labour (not a chance, I’m not even sure they understand)?, not the Tories (do we even have a Loyal Opposition anymore? Is there anyone home there?)?, Not Sir Ed The Postman Doesn’t Even Ring Once Davey?, Not even Nigel Farage or Richard Tice?Can someone please immediately smuggle a copy of Economics For Dummies into the Bank of England to help them understand that consumers do not control energy prices; energy prices going up is not consumer spending that needs to be curbed. Raising interest rates just hurts the consumer even further and drives the inflation; it inflates it, stupid.
