Paxton ticks both boxes: he is liked by the Senators and would certainly be confirmed (it’s impossible Mitch MacConnell or any other Republican Senator to vote down Texas Attorney General) and he is very much liked also by MAGA Republicans, the wild grassroots strange people like Steve Bannon, Jim & Joe Hoft; Rogers instead is liked by the Senate and by the Officers (he is an ex FBI Special Agent) and is also pushed by Rupert Murdoch’s Fox News but he is disliked by the MAGA grassroots who want Kash Patel to drain the Swamp, fight Deep State, kick asses etc. but Patel is not likely to get the Senate Confirmation, if Trump wants to make it easy he may go with Paxton.
Wray in the meantime does not seem hurt, either he is showing off he’s stronger than they or… has already received some big job offer from the Private Sector as usual, see David Bowdich at Disney.
