Dr. Mehmet Oz, retired surgeon and successful media star has been nominated for the next CMS administrator. Dr. McCullough pointed out to Grant Stinchfield on November 21, 2024, that a large fraction of health care spending occurs in the last few months of life. Thus, there is a tremendous opportunity to cut costs with realistic end-of-life care.
