"Deathmatch Duck" is a parody of the Star Trek (1966) season 1 episode "Arena, " wherein a third party forces Kirk into combat with the reptilian Gorn captain of a spacecraft the Enterprise was pursuing. In the Duck Dodgers (2003) episode, Taz plays a barbaric ship captain being pursued by Dodgers when a living planet called Masativo intervenes, forcing them into single combat with each other.

Deconstructing Dodgers is the second segment of the twenty-first episode of Duck Dodgers. It first aired 14 January 2005. Stranded at an Intergalactic Space Airport, I.Q. Hi and the Queen of Mars debate whether Dodgers is as dumb as he seems.
