All Things Spiritual-Revelation 4 Part 1

Revelation 4:1 describes a vision of a throne in heaven, surrounded by four and twenty elders wearing gold crowns. The throne was surrounded by lightnings, thunderings, and voices, with seven lamps of fire, the seven Spirits of God, and a sea of glass. The four beasts, each with six wings, praised the Lord God Almighty for his creation of all things. The elders worshipped the Lord, casting their crowns before him. This is the second vision of John after his vision of Christ walking in the golden candlesticks. John always says he was in the spirit, indicating that revelation can only be given by the Spirit. The prophecy came not by the will of man but by holy men of God, who spoke as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. The vision was preceded by a door being opened in heaven, indicating that everything on earth is first designed and settled in heaven.
