Why Did John Baptize Jesus?

Intro: Interesting time here. Jesus comes to be baptized of John. John was from a group of Jews called the Essenes. They believed in ritual water cleansing. They went through a water cleansing before entering the temple or as they exited the temple. Baptism has many meanings. Yes…. if Jesus was baptized we too should be baptized. But why? What does it mean?
