Subject: Why the Hype? / Mistaken Identity
So, yeah. I did not know there was any other version of Little Shop of Horrors until a few years ago. I had to Force myself to sit throug through this film; I wanted to know what all the hype was about.
While watching, all I could think was, "This generated Merchandise?" It was dumbfounding.
Then, I found I was dumb. Not as dumb as this film is, but nearly.
Ironically (or maybe not), I had the same experience with Scarface. I saw the 30's Scarface w/Edward G Robinson as a kid. Then, in high school I start seeing ppl wearing Scarface T-shirts, & hanging film posters in their bedrooms.
Pop culture can be elusive.
