Blood Destruction

After invading a red blood cell, the parasite matures over 24 to 72 hours, depending on the species, and multiplies into 10 to 30 daughter parasites.

These parasites burst out of the cell, destroying it and infecting neighboring cells. This cycle repeats, leading to a rapid and exponential destruction of red blood cells.

In severe cases, malaria can destroy millions of red blood cells daily, leading to anemia, organ damage, and, if untreated, potentially fatal complications. The speed and efficiency of this process make malaria a highly dangerous and debilitating disease.
