US tests new drone in Ukraine, this will change the course of the war

New American counter-drone systems have been successfully tested in Ukraine . We are talking about interceptor drones, which were called "game changers".

As Newsweek reports , this new product was developed by two leading American technology companies – IronNet and Astrion. The revolutionary counter-drone technology has demonstrated impressive potential for combating drones in real-world combat situations and improving the level of intelligence on the battlefield.

"The Hitchhiker is a high-speed, electric-powered interceptor drone designed to destroy enemy drones like Iran's Shahed more cost-effectively than traditional defensive systems like expensive Patriot missiles," the publication writes.

Cybersecurity investor and director of the American company IronNet, Admiral Mike Hewitt, called this new product a "game changer."

"Astrion is a counter-UAS company that can basically provide full coverage of the country against drone threats. It can see drones, classify them, track them, and then destroy them with its drone, which it launches from different locations," he explained.

At the same time, IronNet will provide a cyber-resilient collective defense system for the Astrion network.

"We've shared both the IronNet and Astrion capabilities with various leaders in Ukraine who are on the front lines. And I'll tell you, the feedback we've gotten is, how quickly can you get these capabilities here? And that's from people who are really working on the front lines at a very high level. So we took that with a lot of confidence that this could be a game changer in Ukraine. We're committed to bringing that partnership together to Ukraine," Hewitt said.

The full-scale war between Russia and Ukraine has been called a drone war more than once. Both sides use drones – in the air, on the ground, and on the water. In particular, Ukraine has used unmanned naval boats to destroy Russian ships. The Russians are terrorizing Ukrainian cities with Iranian "Shaheds".

Ukraine is also actively working on developing new drones. In particular, during the war, drones such as "Shark", "Bober", the rocket drone "Palyanytsya" and others appeared.
