3 in custody after police chase leads to crash in Las Vegas

Three people were taken into custody after a car fleeing from Las Vegas police officers got into a crash Wednesday morning, according to authorities.

The incident began with a robbery attempt reported in the area of G Street and McWilliams Avenue, near Bonanza Road and MLK Boulevard, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said in a statement.Multiple people used a weapon to try to take items from a victim and left before officers arrived.

Police spotted the suspects in the area of U.S. 95 and Jones Boulevard and initiated a pursuit. The suspect vehicle sped off, and at some point, it collided with another car near Cheyenne Avenue and Torrey Pines Drive.

Three individuals were taken into custody, according to LVMPD. Multiple other people were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

Police say their investigation is still ongoing.
