When Shoplifters Turn on Each Other

On May 11, 2024 in Florida, deputies responded to Walmart in response to a reported fraud. Upon arrival, deputies were informed by a loss prevention associate that a male and 3 females had exited a vehicle and entered the store at 1321 hours, while the driver of the vehicle waited. The male was observed on video taking two mattresses from a shelf and bringing them to the return counter. After conducting a fraudulent return, he then exited the store, leaving the 3 women in the store, who were suspected of continuing the fraud conspiracy. The deputies began to then search for the suspects. This is body cam footage of the events that followed.
