It was penned in the early months of 2001, before the rise of social media and the decline of intimate relationships in society. It is a cautionary tale, one that anticipated and predicted the present dsytopic social circumstances, the negative consequences of becoming immersed in an artificial reality and the dangers of confronting anonymous monsters that lurk in the deepest, darkest corners of the Internet.
