Negotiators fail to agree on UN treaty to curb global plastic pollution

Negotiations on a global treaty on plastic pollution have ended in South Korea without the consensus required for a legally binding deal on cutting plastic pollution.
The talks have been extended into sometime next year, but it’s unclear whether that’s enough time for the gaps to be bridged.
