COVID Lies

The spread of misinformation and lies about COVID-19 has been a significant issue during the global health crisis. Here are some of the notable false claims and misconceptions:

Lie #1 We are facing a novel respiratory pathogen that scientists have no idea how to
handle.

Lie #2 This pathogen has caused a pandemic that will cause 5% of Americans to die.

Lie #3 No one has any natural immunity to SARS COV2 because this is a completely
novel virus.

Lie #4 This virus emerged by chance through the animal kingdom and not through
human engineering.

Lie #5 Lockdowns are necessary so that people can survive this pandemic.

Lie #6 SARS COV2 can be transmitted from one person to another person without any
sign of illness (asymptomatically).

Lie #7 Masks put on faces will protect people from transmitting this respiratory virus
and cause no harm to people.

Lie #8 Testing everyone with the PCR test as often as possible will allow us to separate
the ill from the healthy.

Lie #9 We have no effective treatment for COVID19.

Lie #10 Everyone is at equal risk for COVID19.

Lie #11 The C-19 shot is a “Vaccine”

Lie #12 Vaccines will prevent COVID19, the transmission of COVID19, and are needed for
all people. The way to end the pandemic is through vaccines.

This misinformation has not only contributed to public confusion and mistrust but has had real-world consequences, including reluctance to follow public health guidelines, decreased vaccination rates, and higher morbidity and mortality due to the virus. Addressing these lies requires ongoing public health communication, education, and transparency about the scientific process and its limitations.
