The CEO of UnitedHealthcare, one of the largest health insurers in the U.S., was fatally shot in the chest by an unidentified man in midtown Manhattan on Wednesday. At a press conference, police said they believe Brian Thompson, 50, was killed in a "brazen targeted attack." New York Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch said, "I want to make it clear at this point that everything indicates this was a deliberate, pre-planned targeted attack."
