How to crack and open a Dial code lock - American tourist luggage. Forgot the code

I got this luggage from my friend and she didn’t remember the code and so I had to find a way to get into the bag and I eventually did using this method. I keep putting tension on the open button as I turn the dial I can feel tension on the dial but you have start from the right side of the dial and work your way to the left. Some people also open it using a pointy tiny scissor or similar tiny knife. This works with the lock that has a tiny black reset button on the right.
