Elsa The Snow Chicken

As I was stacking wood into the sled to prepare for the first incoming snow. Suddenly, I heard a great commotion of feathers behind me.

One of the Black Australorp’s had flown out from the coop, all the way over to me at the chicken coop.

Once she landed, she didn’t move. It is my observation that chickens won’t walk in the snow.

Typically, I name the chickens post mortem, but I instantly knew this brave hearts name was Elsa, the snow Queen.

She was brave but stuck. I filmed the phenomenon for a minute as she hopped up on some rocks to get her feet out of the snow. Then I gently picked her up and brought her back into the coop.

She’s a hero and an explorer in my eyes! I’m grateful she showed me something new 🙌🐓❄️
