Driver arrested after leading police on chase through three states

A Newport man could be facing felony charges in three states after leading police on a wild chase and trying to escape by doing a U-turn on I-275 Friday. David Smiddy intentionally rammed three police cruisers while making a U-turn into the southbound lanes in Whitewater Township, according to court documents. No one was hurt there. The chase started in Newport and went into Indiana and then to Ohio, according to court documents.
