*Escaping from China before Xo and his eight High Devoted bring that country to collapse, Gabriella and Traul Faith find their way to England where they meet up with UN scientists in a laboratory deep under London to think. Surely there must be a cure to the 9th plague, and with Traul having secreted away tiny scraps of the DNA that made Xo Wu into the first High Devoted that cure may just be found. But it is dangerous to play with that DNA, everyone now knows this, so Xo asks the military support that is also in that laboratory, military from many a country, to send guards to constantly watch over his wife and son while so they will always be protected. It is then that Burn arrives in Gabriellas life. A former Marine Raider who was in Israel training with Mossad for future missions against terrorism, Burn found himself on the early front lines against the Devoted. He lost many friends yet gained the start of his legend as Burn, the man who will Burn his enemies to the ground to protect the innocent. His full name is actually Benjamin Burn but once he started being called only Burn he also started being seen as the best to fight any evil around. This is why Burn is tasked by his superiors to find Traul and Gabriella and protect them as they search for a cure...a task Burn does complete yet a task he thinks is beneath his talents until he starts to do as Traul asks and just stays with Gabriella.
