By analyzing a discarded pearl-handled revolver and a key witness statement, Phelps demonstrates sharp investigative instincts, foreshadowing his future success as a detective.

Armed and Dangerous: Phelps responds to a dramatic bank robbery led by heavily armed criminals. The ensuing shootout showcases Phelps' courage under fire as he takes down the gang and protects the city.

Warrants Outstanding: A tense chase across rooftops unfolds as Phelps pursues a fleeing suspect with outstanding warrants. This high-octane pursuit cements his reputation as a tenacious officer.

Buyer Beware: When victim Edgar Kalou is shot outside Nunn Bush Shoes, Phelps tracks the case to its source—a love triangle involving Kalou and the store clerk. With sharp interrogation skills, he cracks the case and earns his first promotion.

Chapter 2: Traffic Desk
The Driver's Seat: Newly assigned to the Traffic Desk, Phelps partners with Detective Stefan Bekowsky to investigate the suspicious hit-and-run of Leroy Sabo. A trail of evidence, including a bloody pipe and a forged insurance claim, reveals a premeditated plot by Sabo's wife, Margaret.

The Consul's Car: Phelps and Bekowsky are thrust into a politically sensitive case when a Packard belonging to the Argentine Consul, Juan Francisco Valdez, is reported stolen.
