Trend of Hush Travel
The hush travel trend, also known as a hush-cation, is when a remote worker takes a trip without notifying their manager or taking time off work. While on the trip, the worker continues to work from a different location, such as a hotel, coffee shop, or co-working space. Hush travelers may use a VPN to hide their location and IP address.
Hush trips are a response to stress and burnout at work and are part of a larger trend of employees looking for ways to relieve pressure. The trend has gained popularity on social media, and is like leisure travel, which combines business and leisure travel.
However, hush trips can be risky and may lead to complications or disciplinary action, especially in industries with strict regulations or high security needs. For example, if a hush traveler's work phone can't go international, their team may not be able to reach them.
You might run into issues with your employer that could jeopardize your future with the company. It shows a lack of trust between employer and employee, and you always get caught eventually
