🇸🇾 Syrian Rebel Forces Vow Justice and Reform ✊

Rebel forces have announced plans to close the notoriously harsh prisons operated by ousted president Bashar al-Assad. They also pledged to pursue those responsible for the torture and killing of detainees.

Rebel leader Ahmed al-Sharaa, also known as Abu Mohammed al-Jolani, declared the dissolution of the former regime’s security forces in a statement shared by Reuters.

📹 Videos have emerged showing thousands of prisoners being freed from Saydnaya prison, infamously described as a "human slaughterhouse" by rights groups, following the Assad government's collapse on Sunday.

🔴 According to the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, nearly 60,000 people were tortured and killed in Assad-run prisons.
