Operation Gladio was one of the many secret warfare campaigns waged by NATO against European countries in the Cold war in order to create a "strategy of tension" where people would rush into the arms of Conservatives after Communists had so much prestige following World War 2.

In order to maintain the ideology of anti-communist and pro-Americanism NATO agents waged various acts of t3rrorism across the European continent which they then blamed on Communists.
