"Was Never Beaten But..." US Citizen Travis Timmerman Found In Damascus After 7 Months In Syria Jail

Days after Assad’s fall, a missing US citizen was found wandering the streets outside the Syrian capital of Damascus barefoot. The man was identified later as Travis Pete Timmerman, last seen in the Hungarian capital, Budapest, in late May.
He appears to be among the thousands of people released from Syria’s notorious prisons after the overthrow of Assad regime.
Timmerman was initially mistaken by some for Austin Tice, an American journalist who went missing in Syria 12 years ago. Turkish state news agency Anadolu said he had been released from the notorious Sednaya prison.
Timmerman admitted in an interview with Al Arabiya, an Arabic news channel that was treated well in detention but could hear other young men being tortured.
