Donald Trump has stated that the US needs to support Ukraine in order to get a deal done. Zelensky also stated that Ukraine is not yet ready for peace talks as it’s currently not on equal footing with Russia. Trump’s strategy is to use the European states to pressure China in order to weaken support for Russia.
