Jesus Christ, in His ultimate act of love and sacrifice, took upon Himself the curse that rightfully belonged to us. When He was crucified on the cross, described symbolically as a "tree," He embodied the curse of the law, which was due to us for our sins. This act is not a sign of God's displeasure with Jesus but rather the highest expression of divine love and mercy.

Jesus, being sinless and fully pleasing to God, as confirmed by the Father at His baptism and transfiguration, willingly became the sin-bearer for humanity. This is explicitly stated in Galatians 3:13: "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: 'Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.'" - Here, Paul explains that Jesus took our curse upon Himself to redeem us from the law's condemnation.

2 Corinthians 5:21 further illuminates this truth: "God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." - This verse underscores the substitutionary atonement where Jesus, though sinless, was made to be sin so that we could be justified before God.

Moreover, in 1 Peter 2:24, we read: "He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed." - This passage highlights that Jesus' death was not for His own sins but for ours, enabling us to live a life free from sin's control and in righteousness.
