One of the companies that is making contributions to space missions ranging from biomedical research aboard the ISS to providing solar arrays for multiple spacecraft is Redwire, based in Jacksonville Florida.

Redwire’s broad and diverse portfolio of innovative technologies is accelerating space development from Low Earth Orbit to the Moon, and beyond.

"If you look at some of the struggles some of the other commercial space companies have, I think it's because of a lack of diversity," Gold said. "Redwire has a fantastic balance in portfolio of both existing products that have predictable markets ... strong markets ... as well as some optionality in places where we'd like to develop that have tremendous potential."

Prior to joining Redwire, Gold was NASA’s Associate Administrator for Space Policy and Partnerships, Acting Associate Administrator for the Office of International and Interagency Relations, and Senior Advisor to the Administrator or International and Legal Affairs. Before joining NASA, Gold was Vice President of Civil Space at Maxar Technologies and General Counsel for the company’s legacy Radiant Solutions business unit. Gold also spent 13 years at Bigelow Aerospace where he established the company’s Washington office, oversaw the launches of the Genesis 1 and 2 spacecraft, and was a recipient of a NASA Group Achievement award for the development and deployment of the Bigelow Expandable Activity Module (BEAM) on the International Space Station.
