The Dead Internet Theory is a conspiracy theory that suggests the internet, as we know it, is largely controlled by automated bots and artificial intelligence (AI) rather than real human activity. According to the theory, much of the content and interactions online—such as comments, social media posts, and articles—are not generated by real people but by sophisticated AI or bots. These bots are thought to manipulate discussions, create fake trends, and give the illusion of a vibrant, diverse internet, when in reality, human participation is minimal.
