From The Depths

The viper shark (Trigonognathus kabeyai), a rare and deep-sea species, typically inhabits depths of 270 to 360 meters (885 to 1,180 feet), though it has been recorded at depths as great as 1,000 meters (3,280 feet).
This depth range places it in the mesopelagic zone, also known as the "twilight zone," where sunlight barely penetrates.
Living in such extreme conditions, the viper shark has evolved unique adaptations, including needle-like teeth and a bioluminescent body, which it uses to attract prey in the darkness.
Its deep-sea habitat protects it from many surface predators, but it also means encounters with this species are rare, contributing to its mysterious reputation.
