When Cherry Picking Goes Wrong: Where Does Jaimie Munguia Go From Here?

Massive underdog Bruno Surace brutally knocked out Mexican boxer Jaime Munguia in Tijuana, Mexico. Sources say the Tijuana Cartel lost big money in this fight.

Some say this is the upset of the year. Why? Jaime Munguia was a whopping -4000 betting favorite. According to Mike Coppinger, Bruno Mars was supposed to be an easy touch for Munguia.

Surace was handpicked to deliver an easy, stay-busy win for Munguia before seeking another high-profile fight in 2025

However, someone forgot to tell Bruno Mars he was supposed to lose. Bruno overcame massive odds in this fight. First, he's from France. Second, he fought Jaime Munguia in his hometown.

Everything was set up for Munguia to win. Jaime even scored a knockdown in the second round. But as the fight materialized, Bruno started landing the right hand.

Bruno caught Jaime with a one-two down the pipe. Bruno shot the jab and quickly followed it up with a right cross that caught Jaime square on the chin.

This was the first fight Bruno had outside of France. The balls it took to fight in Tijuana, in front of the Tijuana Cartel, are gusty at best. Tim Bradley says the referee jobbed Jaime.

I disagree with Tim's perspective. French boxers of the past like Georges Carpentier, Charles Mayer, Jean Despeaux, Tony Yoka and Jérôme Thomas are some of the most famous fighters from France.

Bruno now has a record of 26-0-2, 5 of those victories came by knockout. Bruno stopped his last opponent, Jhon Jader Obregon in the 12th via TKO stoppage.

By KO'ing Jaime Munguia in 6, this is the biggest win of Bruno Mars Surace's career. Where does Jaime Munguia go from here after being brutally knocked out in his backyard by a pillow-fisted cherry pick?
