Get Them Done [1969] [Motown]

Marquis Johnston was truly an amazing talent. Born in 1948 in the south of Newburgh NY, young Marquis traveled by train during weekends to play with his band in NYC. He soaked up what the east coast had to offer such as; quaaludes, winston cigarettes, segregated chinese food and a passion for Motown Music where he nicknamed himself "The Love Doctor." Often criticized for his forthright lyrics, Marquis knew that the magic to creating something that truly strikes you...is to make it authentic. He managed just that with a 7" single released in 1969 from a small independent record company up north along the Hudson River. Although Marquis only managed 1 release during his career in the tri-state area, he captured his moment of authenticity with "Get Them Done." Having been faithful to his high-school sweetheart Tamika, Marquis noticed something about Tamika that was... lacking. Her healthy, yet not big enough D cup breast size. Marquis had an idea, in 1969 you could get the most state-of-the-art boobs available to man. A man of Johnston's mojo thought himself worthy of such luxury. He decided to simply have her pay for it. Allegedly, Marquis continues to outlive his wife (1999) It is said to be somewhere in the Appalachian Mountain Range.
