The 25 Commonalities - Commonality #5: Gaslighting

Through hundreds of victim and family testimonies, the COVID Humanity Betrayal Memory Project has identified 25 systemic practices that highlight the widespread abuse of patients at the hands of hospital protocols. These shared experiences paint a chilling picture of neglect, coercion, and dehumanization in healthcare systems.

Commonality #5: Gaslighting by Hospital Staff
Patients and families were repeatedly subjected to fear-based manipulation. Victims were told they would die because they were unvaccinated or if they didn’t comply with hospital protocols, including harmful treatments like black-box drugs or mechanical ventilation. Families were gaslit with statements like “your loved one is a very sick man” or “a very sick woman,” sowing doubt and panic while dismissing their concerns and requests for alternatives. Families were encouraged to let their loved ones die.
