The Kids for Cash scandal revolved around judicial bribery involving two judges from the Luzerne County Court of Common Pleas in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, USA. In 2008, Judges Michael Conahan and Mark Ciavarella were convicted of accepting money in exchange for imposing harsh sentences on minors to increase the occupancy of a private prison operated by PA Child Care.
