There is no logical answer, to why you wouldn’t see the Sun immediately, if it turned on from off.

The only logical reason, for anyone to think they wouldn’t see the Sun for 8 minutes and 20 seconds if it suddenly turned on from off, is because they believe the obvious lie that says the Sun’s light travels at 299,792 k/s.
The Sun and all Stars radiate absolute light.
