When they have surgery or a medical issue they'll think back to these years

"Did Dad stay disciplined? Did Mom and Dad stay a team and not worry about being 50/50? Was dad still joyful or did he whine and make it all about him? If Dad worked out with me during his surgery, exercising with my kids MUST be a priority"
