Why do heterosexual men deny and dismiss our misogyny?

In this video, Previn Karian begins his outline of the psychoanalytic modelling he will be using to dissect the psychology of misogyny in men. In order to understand the psychological roots of misogyny and its rejection by men, the primary model of mind is the distinction between the Ego and the Unconscious as two separate functions. The Unconscious contains our repressed memories, feelings, thoughts and desires which are split off from out conscious rational functioning. The Unconscious is the realm of Carl Jung's "Shadow".

Once seen as the conflict between the Ego and the contents of the Unconscious mind, men can begin the difficult task of their psychological self-confrontation. This is not natural for heterosexual men, and requires immense moral courage to do so. It is psychological modelling sits under our gender stereotyping and biological neuro-wiring in men, and that has been missed in gender, neuroscience and evolutionary psychology studies.
