Jonbenet Ramsey case - top intruder theory suspects.
Michael Helgoth was considered a suspect in the JonBenét Ramsey case for several reasons:
Proximity: Helgoth lived a few miles from the Ramsey family in Boulder, Colorado, making him a potential suspect due to his close geographic location.
Footprints: A private investigator claimed that Helgoth's boots matched footprints found in the Ramsey home, specifically in the basement where JonBenét's body was discovered.
Mysterious Death: Helgoth died by suicide less than two months after JonBenét's murder, which raised suspicions due to the timing and circumstances of his death.
Behavior: Helgoth's behavior was considered suspicious by some investigators, including his sudden death and the fact that he had a criminal history.
Despite these factors, there was no concrete evidence linking Helgoth to the crime, and the Boulder Police Department has not charged him with JonBenét's murder.
Gary Oliva was considered a suspect in the JonBenét Ramsey case for several reasons:
Proximity: Oliva lived near the Ramsey family in Boulder, Colorado, at the time of JonBenét's murder.
Obsession: Oliva had a disturbing obsession with JonBenét, which was evident from the hundreds of images of her found on his phone when he was arrested in 2016.
Confession: In 2019, Oliva seemingly confessed to JonBenét's murder in a series of disturbing jailhouse letters and poems. He claimed he killed JonBenét by "accident" and expressed guilt over her death1.
Criminal History: Oliva had a long history of criminal behavior, including sexual offenses and disturbing behavior such as making tapes with dark fantasies about children.
Evidence: Items linked to Oliva, such as a broken paintbrush and knotted rope, were found at the crime scene. The garrote used to strangle JonBenét was made from these items1.
Despite these factors, Oliva has never been charged with JonBenét's murder, and the Boulder Police Department has cleared him several times after investigating his alleged confessions.
Named individuals are only theory persons of interest per opinion, and in no way does the author suggest that they are guilty or official investigation suspects.
