Jean Karl Gaverza is one of the most passionate and prolific people I know who study Mythologies from the Philippines.

He manages the Philippine Spirits facebook page and is an author of several books about myths, legends, and folklore, including The Spirits of the Philippine Archipelago, Mythica Obscura, Bakunawa, and others.

In this episode we talked about his books, the differences of legends and myths, linguistics in the Philippines, the aswangs, manananggals, bakunawas, and how mythological traditions shape Filipino culture from pre-colonial times going to the future.
