On May 15th, 2023, Ohio Dispatch received a 911 call alleging that an inebriated driver had parked her red Pontiac on a street at an angle of 45 degrees from the curb, blocking the fire hydrant. The female was heavily intoxicated and slurring excessively. The officer also discovered prescription pills and painkillers among her possessions. Alcohol and opioid medicines never mix well, sometimes resulting in chemical complications and death. It was too risky to ask the female to perform the field sobriety tests. Keeping her physical state in mind, the officer believed it would be best to ask the female for a blood draw at a hospital. The female was identified as 37-year-old Samantha. Her blood alcohol content was 0.169, more than twice the legal limit. She was charged with operating a vehicle under influence and her total bond was set at $5000.
