In a ceremony attended by his wife Georgina Rodriguez, Cristiano Ronaldo, the star of Saudi Arabia's Nasr Club, received the award for the best football player in the Middle East at the "Globe Soccer" awards ceremony.

Ronaldo also received the award for the most goals in history with a total of 916 club and national goals.
