The Command to Be Rooted in Jesus

I want to remind you that we must work out our own salvation with fear and trembling. It is up to us to replenish and store up the oil in our vessels. Just as in the parable of the ten virgins. Five were wise and five were foolish. “They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps” (Matthew 25: 3-4, KJV).

When the foolish asked the wise for some of their oil, they were essentially told to go to the false prophets and others who sell lies to them and to continue to be misdirected. To be misguided, careless, and ill-advised. Becoming ineffective as they were being distracted.
