In Feb. 1984 I was in the 12th and last session of a class called: Power For Abundant Living. I'd heard that in this last session, everyone would speak in tongues. Well, I was in that 12th session and made sure I left before they all did that! I was living in a motel at the time, and I laid on the bed, on my back, relaxed and got quiet inside. *(I wanted to pray perfectly and speak in tongues). I believed God for the FIRST WORD! And like drips of water in a leaky faucet, after the first word, the next word (drop) was there, and so on... God does not possess you. You by freedom of your will, choose to get those words from God, and you will not understand them. It does not matter if you say them outload or quietly to yourself, (but if you do it outload, it is not for others to hear unless YOU interpret for them also). It is perfect prayer; "says what needs to be said, when it needs to be said, in just the right way". I am 62 now, and I have spoken in tongues in the dentist's chair, on icy roads, (whenever I was afraid), to help me sleep, when I wanted to bless someone, as my mother (and my cat) was dying, etc... the list goes on! The comforter has come!
