President Donald Trump's win in 2016 notably shifted the presidential map. For longtime Democrats, the perils of an altered presidential map became apparent the night of Trump’s victory in 2016. Politico reports Ed Rendell, a former governor of Pennsylvania and DNC chairman saying, “I never thought I’d live to see the day a Republican would carry Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania." This fact has the Democrats working hard to make sure the 2020 election is secured for their party.
