I have done just about all kinds of go fast racing. But...

This was the ultimate!! I got involved in white water jet boat racing in 1999. My cousin kinda got me involved. OK well here's the story:
We had a rock-n-roll band and were playing at different places. Dean was the guitarist/singer. I was the bassist and my cousin Chuck was the drummer. I didn't really want to get back into racing but this wasn't racing. It was pure insanity. White water jet boat racing to be exact. Chuck and Dean had been racing for a while. I went to watch them at the finals in Gold Beach, Oregon that year. I thought those guys were nuts!!! Well, one thing led to another and they crashed the boat on the Klamath River in California. I was the trailer driver so I really didn't know what happened till I got to the finish line and saw the boat on the shore with the motor all smashed in and the back jet drive missing. Well another thing led to another. Dean decided it was time to wrap his racing days up. I ended up getting his position in the boat as the "navigator"... uhhhh well I hadn't even been in the boat much less raced in it. Actually I did ride in the boat for a test run for 15 minutes ... yes 15 minutes. The next time I was in the boat was the first leg of the 1999 World Championship races on the upper Rogue River in Gold Beach, Oregon. By the time we finished the first leg up river at ???
when I tried to get out of the boat I felt like I had a lead suit on. My adrenaline had gone from 117 mph to poof.... I could hardly get out of the boat. I was hooked!!!! Long story short, bad luck kept us from winning but I had a blast!
