We're only two days into the new year, and the political games are underway locally! No matter what is happening politically, on the state and national scenes... the more things change, the more they stay the same for folks where they are MOST AFFECTED — locally!

Some believe they are in elected positions to pull strings and fix outcomes to benefit themselves or their network better! Setting the stage so they can function without bother! However, with each pull of the string, they reveal just a little more of themselves to the point that one day, soon, they will be fully exposed. And as the good book says in Numbers 32:23, "...be sure, your sins will find you out!"

Tune in for this 360th episode of The Political Spotlight (the first show of the new year). Host Kristopher H. Bilbrey examines two similar situations. The first deals with the Delaware County, Indiana Council, and the County Republican Party. The second concerns Muncie, Indiana's City Council.

First, Bilbrey looks at the Delaware County Council's organizational meeting from earlier this morning (Thursday, January 02, 2025). And for the record, the first thing that needs to be said is: "The Delaware County Council is only one 15-minute meeting into the new year, and even with very little action taking place, it can already be said that not having Councilor Ryan Webb there is a MAJOR LOSS!"

But apart from that, some VERY SERIOUS ISSUES are taking place outside the public's view, and that is not a way to start the year off when there is already such little trust in the County Council or the County Government as a whole!

Another big issue is the Delaware County GOP's control over the County Council. That control needs to end, or better yet, the County GOP needs to be dismantled from top to bottom.

However, the issues aren't just on the county side of government. The City of Muncie also has problems that continue to pop up from all sides.

Specifically, Bilbrey examines the City Council and the various issues that arise when Councilor Nora Powell wants to manipulate everything that happens while she remains in the shadows.

Over the last year, Bilbrey has occasionally agreed with Councilor Powell, but when her actions become questionable, it's time to examine what she is trying to do! Who is she on the Council to serve — herself or the public?
