Edge of Doom (1950)

In "Edge of Doom" (1950), (Farley Granger) plays Martin Lynn, a young man deeply affected by the death of his mother. Desperate to provide her with a proper Catholic burial, he encounters resistance from the church due to his inability to pay. This rejection fuels his anger and leads him to murder Father Kirkman, the priest who denied his request.

Haunted by guilt and despair, Martin's life spirals further downward. However, he finds a glimmer of hope in Father Roth (Dana Andrews), a compassionate priest who suspects Martin's involvement in the murder but also sees the potential for redemption within him.

Father Roth patiently guides Martin, offering him support and understanding while discreetly investigating the crime. Through their interactions, Martin begins to confront his guilt and the underlying issues that led to his violent act.

"Edge of Doom" explores themes of poverty, social injustice, and the struggle for redemption. It's a film noir that delves into the psychological complexities of a troubled soul and the possibility of finding solace and forgiveness.
