Freedom - Written By Mark Spencer

Often, when we have something, even if only a measure of that something, we tend to take it for granted. Autonomy (Freedom) is one of those things. It isn't easy to maintain something like freedom for any prolonged period, because power is like a drug for ambitious people. They wouldn't want to BE controlled themselves, but controlling others is an ambition of theirs. This is easily achievable under a government that has no checks or balances, like the U.S. Constitution. But even that can be undermined. And when that begins, which it has, in these United States, freedom requires a willingness to stand against the ambitions of the power junkies! Everyday we see our freedoms go the way of the dinosaur, but the yoke that comes in the wake of that loss will have more of an effect on our children and grandchildren, than it will on us.
