A federal judge in El Paso has ruled that the U.S. government’s ban on gun ownership for habitual marijuana users is unconstitutional in a landmark case. The court allowed the defendant to withdraw his guilty plea and dismissed the indictment, stating that the government failed to prove the restriction aligns with historical gun laws. While the law itself wasn't declared unconstitutional, the judge found that disarming sober individuals based on past marijuana use goes against Second Amendment protections.
